The TD Garden was electric on Sunday, July 13, 2025, as Boston hosted Week 5 of the Big3 season — four games, four winners, and a night of memorable moments. In Game 1, Miami 305 edged out DMV Trilogy 52–49. Game 2 saw Chicago Triplets fend off Dallas Power 50–49. In Game 3, the Boston Ball Hogs defeated LA Riot 51–43. And in Game 4, Detroit Amps prevailed over Houston Rig Hands 50–40
AMG Sports Media was immersed that evening, and had front-row access to both the competition and the personalities enhancing the spectacle. We sat courtside as Glen Rice Sr. watched his son Glen Rice Jr. lead Dallas Power, though they fell to Triplets, and captured postgame reactions. We also had conversation with Big3 Commissioner Clyde Drexler, who emphasized the league’s evolution toward home markets and the deeper connection it brings to fans: “Building in these cities allows us to stay part of the community, not just pass through,” he told us.
We also had the opportunity to speak with Reggie Theus, who reflected on the league’s mission to give veteran players a renewed competitive stage. “It’s more than nostalgia , these guys can still perform,” Theus said. Before their halftime performance, Onyx icons Fragile Star and Sticky Fingaz joined us backstage; Sticky promised to “bring the same fire that fuels the game” when they hit the stage. Meanwhile, Taquan Zimmerman from the Utah Jazz weighed in on the rapid intensity of 3-on-3 play and how it sharpens decision making. The night was a mix of basketball, culture, and legacy and with those confirmed scores in hand, it’s clear the competition matched the buzz.
