Ice Cube Ignites Detroit: Big3 Thrills Motor City Before Rolling to Cincinnati

Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena came alive on Sunday, July 20, 2025, as the Big3 season roared into Week 6, filling the stands with fans, legends, and energy that only Ice Cube’s league can deliver. The four-game slate didn’t disappoint: the LA Riot dominated the Chicago Triplets 50–30, Dallas Power edged Miami 305 50–47, DMV Trilogy outlasted the hometown Detroit Amps 51–45, and the Boston Ball Hogs closed the night with a 51–40 win over the Houston Rig Hands.

Amid the action, AMG Sports Media had the honor of speaking directly with Ice Cube, the league’s founder and driving force. Cube reflected on Detroit’s place in Big3 history, noting how the city’s grit, music, and pride inspired the Amps’ identity. He praised the crowd for its intensity and described the Big3’s mission as a fusion of sport and culture that gives legends new life while energizing local communities. Courtside, we also caught up with O’Shea Jackson Jr., who provided commentary and sideline reporting for the evening. His charisma and deep basketball knowledge made him a natural voice of the event, reinforcing the Big3’s blend of family legacy and fresh entertainment.

As the lights dimmed and fans filtered out into downtown Detroit, the momentum of the season only grew stronger. With Week 7 on the horizon, AMG Sports Media now turns its attention to Cincinnati’s Heritage Bank Center, where the Big3 continues its 2025 tour. Another weekend, another city, and another chance for hoops, culture, and community to collide.
